Leaders of Andhra Mahaa Sabha

We can divide the leaders of Andhra Mahaa Sabha in to two categories based on their ideology.

  1. Moderates 2. Extremists

Moderates

Like Indian National Congress, Almost all the earliest leaders of Andhra Mahaa Sabha were moderates and the people belonged to so called upper castes.

Maadapaati Hanumantha Rao, Suravaram Prathaapa Reddy, Boorgula Ramakrishna Rao,  Mandumula Narsinga Rao, Jamalapuram Keshava Rao, Pulijaala Venkata Rangaa Rao etc.

Extremists

After the few years of inception, Andhra Mahaa Sabha was dominated by extremist leaders.

Ex: Raavi Naaraayana Reddy, Baddam Yellareddy, Maqdoom Mohiuddin, Devulapalli Venkateshwara Rao etc.

From 1930 to 1946, 13 meetings of Andhra Mahaa Sabha were convened. Due to the efforts of Durga Bai Deshmukh, Andhra Mahila Sabha meetings also convened along with Andhra Mahaa Sabha.
